Baby Boy Maverick

04/24/08-  Maverick is Honey's colt.  He was standing by his mom when I came out in the morning to feed them.  He was born on Friday, March 28, 2008.  he is a beautiful paint colt with flashy colors.  He will be up for adoption in September  2008.  He is going to be a smaller horse size but will be bulky.  He has great conformation, but WILL be gelded.  he is spirited and already plays tricks on his blind mom!  He will be up to date on vaccines, worming and farrier.  Pictures coming soon after I figure out how to put them on!

Adoption Fee is $400.00

04/24/2008  -Lily - a 17 year old Morgan mare.  Does NOT look her age at all.  She is broke to ride, but needs a confident rider as she knows when  a beginner gets on her!  She likes to test her riders, but once she knows that you are able, then she is very ok to ride.

Adoption fee is $650.00

04/24/2008 - Lady - an 18 year old Morgan mare.  She is so loving and caring.  Her ground manners are impeccible!  She is getting trained to ride now.  She has a bit to go, but really tries hard and likes to please.  She is a bit of a chicken and will not fight for food, so you have to watch her so that she gets enough food to eat if eating with other horses.  Definitely will be on the bottom of the totem pole!  She is also registered with the Morgan registry.

Adoption fee is $500.00

Honey

04/24/2008

Honey is a girl who still doesnt really want humans to touch her, but she does let us get close to her and Maverick.  I can touch, but since she cant see, I try to touch her a bit.  She absolutely is a wonderful mom to her colt and i believe this is her foal.  I think that Maverick does know that she is blind and will play her some!

01/11/2008  Honey is still pretty leary of us humans!  She is a beautiful girl tho and we really think she is pregnant with just looking at her.  Not sure how she got blind either.  We are still unable to approach her unless we have grain and then she doesnt 'allow' me to touch her.  I steal touches here and there she doesnt like it.  She used to run away, now just turns and walks away. Not sure when to expect the foal, but I am obviously hoping that it will be when its warmer!  She is either pregnant or getting too much food!  But I think she is pregnant.  I have also wormed her 3 times since August 2008.  Pictures coming soon!

Honey is a 8-9 year old paint (brown and white) who is blind.  Not sure why she is blind.  She was with Shadow for the last 5 years.  They are companions and I am hoping that they will get adopted together.  Honey relies on Shadow alot.  She also has had little to no human contact for her whole life along with no vet care, worming, vaccines or farrier work.  Since she is blind she is taking longer to socialize.  But she will come close. Just doesnt trust us humans!  She also may be pregnant with the same mustang sire.

MAX

04/24/2008

Max is a wonderful boy.  He is actually liking my geldings!  He plays over the fence with Duke every single day.  He isnt so protective over his girls much anymore.  I let him out with almost the whole herd to the back pasture and he doesnt try to show his protective side on behalf of his girls anymore.  Max is greenbroke and loves attention.  He has come a long ways from the boy who I couldnt catch when I first got him!  He doesnt act his age and loves to run!  he likes to show off for sure!

Updated on 083007-

Boy, we just love Max!  He is a wonderful boy.  He is getting used to having geldings around him and his girls.  We actually have Sweetheart, Ireland and Lady with him.  He loves his girls!  I would prefer someone who had their own place to adopt Max.  My trainer has worked with him earlier this year and will be giving him a refresher course soon.  He is green broke and has ALOT of get up and go.  So he needs a very experienced rider.  he listens very well and we had him at the Midwest Horse Fair for 3 days and he did really well riding in the outdoor arena with lots of other horses.  My trainer, Makon Buzzell also had him at a stable for the St. Judes ride and he did really well with steep and hard trails.  he even went with a couple of other geldings!  he is still in great shape and just gorgeous to look at.  He does like to make you work to catch him, but after a few tries will just give up and stand there for you to put the halter on him.  I swear he thinks its a game!  he has no problems leaving his mares, but will get a bit excited when they leave him.

returned in December 2006

20 YEAR OLD MORGAN GELDING.  IS REGISTERED WITH THE MORGAN ASSOCIATION.  HE HAS great BACKGROUND!

Max came back to me because of a couple of different reasons.  He is still VERY adoptable.  But he has a few quirks.  He can only be with Mares in his paddock/pasture area or with NO mares at all.  He was probably with nothing but mares.  He is being trained right now to ride.  He is mare sour tho!  He takes care of his mares and always wants to stay with him.  He will be able to be ridden as my trainer is doing that now, but just by his mares.  He listens and is a very, very good boy.  He is stunning to look at!  He listens very well and really is a nice, nice boy.  He is strong and doesnt look his 20 years!   I will be bringing him to the Midwest Horse Fair this year (April 20-22, 2007)  He is just 15 hands and is the typical Morgan.  He is very, very beautiful!  He has been riden English for now, but has had a western saddle on.  He is no longer afraid of people and will like to play with his mares from time to time.  But he is the protector!  He is a very intelligent horse.  Picks up on working with him very, very quickly.  Doesnt spook  and is always very aware of his surroundings!  He should be ready to be adopted out by the Midwest Horse Fair.  He will need an experienced rider.  But he does take little kids for rides while being led.    He is the perfect herd leader.  He will protect his herd from anything!  Is used to dogs barking in his face also! (my German shorthair- Hunter! Ha!)

Max is a wonderful boy.  He is a dark bay.  Last year he was confiscated from a farm who had too many horses.  He went to another rescue and they were full up, so they asked me to take him in along with Sweetheart and Blaze.

He is a good boy and looks wonderful.  He doesnt always like to be approached but he is getting better. Once you start petting and grooming him, he is yours!  He is  good with other horses also.  In great shape!  Is up to date with all of his shots, worming and farrier.  Not sure if he is broke yet, but we will be trying him out soon!  He is very close to Sweetheart.    Is very protective of his mares. Would do best if he has his own pasture or paddock with mares.  Can be next to geldings, but shouldnt be in the same paddock with geldings or stallions.

He allows us now to approach him and loves to be groomed. Just had a few trust issues, but he is very good now.  He is so sweet and very beautiful. His trot is really, really nice!
